To: Inna in Russia

Россия

Hello Russia! Or should I say, Здравствуйте!
To be quite honest I don't even know if that is right because I am using google translate. If it's wrong hopefully you can at least see my attempt. Ha!

It's the middle of winter and I can only guess how cold it must be in Russia right now.

Actually, I googled it- in Moscow it's 23 degrees Fahrenheit with light snow, feeling like 13 degrees. Brrrr, That is cold! I always have this vision that Russia is a winter wonderland during the winter and since it's so far north, most of the year! I would love to go there and see if this is actually true, all while wearing a red parka.

It's 45 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny in Brooklyn today and I am loving it.

The Statue of Liberty travels to Russia.

I am sending my next postcard to Inna and I hope she likes it. I am sending an image of the statue of liberty. Did you know that Lady Liberty faces towards Brooklyn? Yes, she is looking straight at our borough. That little fact always made me smile a little bit.

Postcard written for Inna.

I wrote to Inna about how I enjoy to bake and how I learned to make coquito. It was the first time I made some and it came out so delicious that I had to make some more, and more! Coquito comes from Puerto Rican culture and is similar to an eggnog. And, it is perfect for the holidays.

I even gave a few bottles as a Christmas gift to my aunt. The bottles were originally filled with wine, I drank them, decorated the outside and re-filled them with the delicious creamy drink I made.

Hand made envelope in small black squares.

I sent out the postcard a few days ago. I wonder where it may be now? It has many miles to travel across the sea before it gets to Krasnodar.

Inna, I hope you liked your little surprise in the mail and are doing well in that land far, far away.

xoxo,
Mariela
